How the program works

Acute pain reduction
Gentle loading patterns to calm inflammation and reduce pain at the tibial tuberosity.
Most athletes report significant relief within the first 5-10 days of starting the program.

Tissue length and mobility
Loosening the muscles that pull on your knee during growth spurts.
Build the flexibility and mobility young athletes need to not only move without pain but also run faster and be more athletic.

Strength
Progressive strengthening of the muscles that supports the growth plates and tendons.
Creating strength and coordination so your muscles can absorb forces during activity and support your knees.

Motor skill and fitness
Training that deloads your knees AND makes you a better, more explosive athlete.
Improving speed, power, and agility while learning movement patterns that keep you healthy and take the stress off your knees.

Return to Sport

Frequently asked questions
How effective is the Osgood Program?
Incredibly effective. The success rate for athletes with Osgood Schlatter Disease who follow this program is over 98%.
We rarely meet a case of Osgood Schlatters that isn’t drastically improved or eliminated within the 7-week duration from starting this program.
Most commonly athletes will see a 50% or greater reduction in their pain levels in the first 1-3 weeks with a steady decrease to 0/10 pain by the end of the seven weeks.
It’s important to state that these programs are designed specifically for Osgood Schlatter Disease and Severs Disease. Other diagnoses and pathologies may not respond as well to this program as Osgood does. Be sure to have your knee pain diagnosed by a medical professional before beginning this program.
It's also important to note that while the program is not hard, it does require consistency, this isn't a magical pill, but a specific exercise routine requiring a few minutes most days of the week to see these great results.
How much does it cost?
Our program is available for a single upfront payment of $95 USD.
Unlike traditional physical therapy which requires months of expensive and time-consuming weekly follow up appointments, our program delivers comprehensive rehabilitation guidance for a single payment - giving you a complete, cost-effective solution for managing Osgood-Schlatter condition from home.
For those struggling with both Osgood-Schlatter and Sever's disease we have a discount code for the second program.
What are the typical results?
Athletes with Osgood pains in their knees come in all shapes and sizes, however the most common presentation is rapidly growing girls or boys, between 10-16 years of age, playing high volumes of sport and activity.
These young athletes often present with pain levels of around seven out of ten (7/10) when they start this program.
For a diligent athlete, they usually see immediate results, with pain levels being reduced by 50% in the first 7-10 days.
By week four in the program most athletes are at a one or zero out of ten (1-2 / 10) and have returned to some if not all their prior sporting activity levels.
By the end of the seven weeks the vast majority of athletes do not get any Osgood pain again and have returned to full sporting participation.
Note: This is an average experience, some athletes will see faster results while others may have some ups and downs along the way this will depend on how long you have been struggling with your knee pain and the severity of the Osgood.
Do I have to join a gym?
Not if you don't want to.
Provided you have land, gravity and a foam roller you are all set.
The program is designed to be completed entirely from home with minimal equipment and time.
Can I play sport during the program?
Most of the time, yes, however it depends.
We encourage most athletes to continue with at least some of their sport during the rehabilitation program, however each case is unique and a small period of rest (or reduced activity levels) may be required for some athletes.
As long as your case isn’t extreme you should be fine to keep playing and training, however it often helps to cut back by around 20-30% at the start of the program to let the knee calm down enough that you can build strength and mobility.
Some modifications may be required to your sporting load and activity levels. Instructions and guidance for getting this balance right are included in the program.
We provide plenty of tips and guidelines in the program for managing a reduction in sporting load and then also a plan to smoothly return to sport once your pain is under control – this helps reduce the risk of any setbacks or a return of your knee pain.
Is this program safe for children?
Yes.
The Osgood program was written specifically for active children and teenagers struggling with Osgood Schlatter pain.
The adult osgood program is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as its progression rate is slightly different.
Can adults follow this program?
We have created a secondary program specifically for adults.
Osgood in adults can be more stubborn and requires a slightly modified approach to rehabilitation, hence the alternative program.
The programs contain very similar exercises so you can safely follow either program as an adult and expect to see a quick drop in pain levels followed by a lasting improvement in knee function.
Children and teenagers should always follow the original junior program.
How did Core Advantage solve Osgood?
Our performance gym in Melbourne, Australia serves hundreds of junior athletes competing in high-impact sports like basketball, soccer, netball, AFL, and cricket. When we saw so many of our young athletes stuck on the sidelines struggling with Osgood Schlatter (and Sever's disease), we knew that patiently waiting and applying the traditional "rest and ice" approaches weren't enough.
We developed a solution by combining three key elements:
- Research-backed protocols - Partnering with Melbourne's leading sports medicine researchers to understand the biomechanics of growing athletes
- Progressive loading strategies - Applying modern strength and conditioning principles specifically calibrated for adolescent bone and tendon development
- Real-world application - Refining our approach with hundreds of young athletes suffering from Osgood across more than 20 years of clinical application.
The result is our online 7-week protocol that addresses the root cause of Osgood: load management imbalances, poor movement skill and weak, tight muscles.
Instead of just managing symptoms, the program progressively builds strength while teaching proper movement patterns that reduce stress on the knees and gets athletes back to sport fast.
Our approach works because it's active rehabilitation, not passive rest. Athletes maintain fitness, reduce pain, and most importantly - learn techniques to prevent recurrence as they continue growing.
Hopefully this plan is able to help you too!
